How to fix the DirecTV error code 721?

Since your subscribed channel package doesn’t allow you to watch the channel you are looking for, you should change the package.

Upgrade to a higher package

Check what plan or package offers the channel you wanted. Then upgrade to the pack so that you can fix the 721 error code.

Before changing your DirecTV plan, you should go through the list of channels available with each and every pack, then find the most suitable package for you that has almost all your favorite channels included, and you can upgrade to it.

This can help you to lose money when you want to upgrade again for some other channels before your current plan expires. So many national and local channels are added and removed for different plans.

Some sub-channels like MeTV can’t be directly accessed Via your DirecTV but you should use an antenna to get those channels on-air basis. So cross-checking is a must.

Refresh your service and receiver

Have you upgraded the plan, but not fixed the 721 error code? The most probable reason may be due to the cache on the receiver and your account.

Restart and refresh your DirecTV account and the receiver box once you do any changes to your account like changes to the plan. This will refresh the account and clear all the cache memory.

Once you refresh, the error message 721 will be fixed.

Refreshing the service means login into the DirecTV website. Then navigate to the My Account section and find the My equipment section. Your Box name will be listed there.

A Refresh link will be available just beneath the DVR box name. Click on it to refresh the service.

What does it mean to restart the receiver?

Unplugging from the power outlet. Removing all the connections. Wait for 2 minutes, and re-plug and switch ON.

By doing these two steps, your receiver will get the channel programming information from the server and will fix error 721.
